History of the Davis Insurance Agency

Davis Insurance was founded by Jerome B. Davis in 1865, in Corry, Pa. The agency changed hands from father to son for five generations, until Jeff Davis, proprietor of Horton J. Davis and Son Inc., retired in 2015. At that time, the agency was acquired by Rossbacher Insurance Group. The business was believed to be the oldest family-owned insurance agency in the state of Pennsylvania.

Through most of the years, the office was located at 145 N. Center Street, and provided property, casualty, small-business, auto and home insurance to its customers.

Like his predecessors, Jeff Davis was very dedicated to the family business. However, when it came time for him and his wife to retire and spend more time with their family, he looked to his local friendly competitor, Rossbacher Insurance.

“My biggest concern was to make sure that my clients are taken care of – and Rossbacher can do that,” Davis said.
